The Eagle Scout rank is the highest honor in Scouts BSA, symbolizing exceptional commitment, leadership, and service. To earn it, Scouts must complete 21 merit badges, including key ones in areas like first aid and citizenship, and take on a substantial community service project that they plan, organize, and lead. They also must serve in a troop leadership role and pass a board of review, which assesses their character and readiness. Known for embodying values such as trustworthiness, helpfulness, and bravery, Eagle Scouts are recognized for their dedication and are often valued by colleges, employers, and the military.Â
After earning the Eagle Scout rank, Scouts can continue to earn Eagle Palms, which recognize additional achievements beyond Eagle. For each Palm, they must complete five additional merit badges beyond the 21 required for Eagle, remain active in their troop for at least three months, demonstrate continued leadership, and live by the Scout Oath and Law. Palms come in three types—Bronze, Gold, and Silver—each representing increments of five merit badges.
The "Eagle Corner" page on our troop's website honors our many Eagle Scouts and celebrates their accomplishments. This special section not only recognizes the hard work and dedication of each Eagle Scout but also inspires younger Scouts to strive for this distinguished rank. "Eagle Corner" serves as a tribute to the values of leadership, service, and perseverance that each of our Eagles represents.Â
